Poem from Dark to Light to Marlene on Valentine’s Day 2009
While wrinkles creep across our
face
The wind and sail we shall embrace
In
our home as materials change
Allowing many others in to arrange
More
music, more song, more laughs
To fill the mind spaces between more gaffs
For
we have much more to do
The two of us, one, but two
Remaining
to work hard and play hard
Representing very well the old guard
And
though we may go out for less dancing
We will make it up with lots of prancing
For
who cares what others think
When it could be over in a blink
It’s
always darkest before the dawn
Oh dark, dark, dark, be gone
Here
comes the light and a new song
For Marlene, my true love, all along
